Marghiloman Wall

MARGHILOMAN WALL In Buzău, on the corner of Alexandru Marghiloman (the road that connects the city with the eastern part of the county and, further, with Brăila) and Horticolei streets, near the passage under the railway to Moldova, on the left side, it is located „Alexandru Marghiloman” Estate, an architectural complex, with a special historical resonance. This is one of the points of maximum interest on the tourist map of the city and, why not, in this part of the country. The ensemble consists of the following attractions, some of them included in the List of Historical Monuments: the Marghiloman Palace/Albatros Villa, the stables of Marghiloman Palace, the annex buildings, the building of „Alexandru Marghiloman” facility for the elderly, the pond (where swans once majestically floated), the dendrological park with precious species of trees, shrubs and flowers, arranged on esplanades and lawns, the cross of Marghiloman Palace and the statue of the politician from Buzău. A high stone wall surrounded the entire complex for a length of 1800 meters. A large part of it is still preserved and it is included on the List of Historical Monuments in Romania, as part of Marghiloman Palace Ensemble.
