The wayside cross dedicated to the heroes of Buzău of the Eastern Campaign of the Second World War (1941 – 1944)

THE WAYSIDE CROSS DEDICATED TO THE HEROES OF BUZĂU OF THE EASTERN CAMPAIGN OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR (1941 - 1944) The wayside cross, dedicated to the heroes of Buzău of the Eastern Campaign of the Second World War (1941 - 1944), was placed in the yard of Heroes' Church and Cemetery of Buzău in the context of the Centenary of the Great Union, at the initiative of Buzău City Hall. It was rebuilt in place of a wooden wayside cross. The cross is on a 1 meter high and 0.80 meters wide pedestal. The wayside cross's explanatory plaque reads as follows: Erected in honour of the Romanian and German heroes who fell in the line of duty in the Second World War, Buzău City Hall, 17th May 2018 The wayside cross was made of travertine by Megarock S.R.L., entrepreneur Robert Ramazan, and it was unveiled on 17th May 2018.
