„Guardian of water”

„GUARDIAN OF WATER” Work made within the international sculpture symposium of Buzău, „Memory of Water”, 1st edition, 1st – 31st July 2022. In the author’s conception, the sculptor Bogdan Severin Hoșbotă, the Guardian has the task of guarding and watching over dangers of all kinds. Water is one of the most precious resources on earth without which life would not be possible, a resource that our country still abounds in and that we are under the obligation to protect. The monumental sculpture „Guardian of Water” is an artistic representation of the idea of protecting the source of life and empowering people. Bogdan Severin Hojbotă is a renowned artist, graduate of „Nicolae Grigorescu” Art Institute in 1978, university professor at the National University of Bucharest, Doctor in Visual Arts, organizer of the „Art of Metal Salons” and initiator of the biennial „Arts of Fire”. Bogdan Severin Hojbotă has an impressive exhibition record. He is recognized nationally and internationally as one of the most valuable sculptors of the 1980s generation, his works being present at international exhibitions in Montreal, Moscow, Erfurt, Volos, Lyon or Nice, and being the subject of several rave reviews by some of the most demanding critics. His works are present in state and private collections and he is the winner of several international and national salons such as: the Prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, Salons of Moldova 2021, Bacău; the Prize for Sculpture of the National Museum of Art of the Republic of Moldova (2016); the Prize for Sculpture Salons of Moldova, „National Museum of Art of Moldova”, Chișinău, Republic of Moldova (2013); or the Prize for Sculpture of „Ion Andreescu International Biennial” Buzău (2014; 2018) etc.
