„DIVING INTO MEMORY”
Work made within the international sculpture symposium of Buzău, „Memory of Water”, 1st edition, 1st – 31st July 2022. The work belongs to the Iranian sculptor Amin Balaghinalou, and it is a symbol of the human need for water.
Amin Balaghinalou was born in Shiraz, Iran in December 1979. He graduated from Tehran University of Art in June 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in sculpture. He began his first professional experience at the third edition of the biannual Tehran Sculpture Festival in 2001. Shortly after, he was chosen to do a project for the Tehran municipal office. His project was a spectacular bronze statue of a famous Iranian figure, 5 meters high. Thanks to his passion for digital art and computer graphics, and because of Iran’s technological limitations, he planned to pursue his dreams of building his own custom 3D printer. He was able to design and assemble a 2-meter printer for his specific projects in 2015, subsequently building a machine through which he was able to make the largest parametric sculpture in Iran. His other creative and self-taught professional achievements were the „lost wax” casting technology in 2004. Due to the shortage of academic teachers in this specialization, he received an invitation to teach casting at Tehran University of Art, beginning a teaching career. In addition to sculpting many urban, local and international executive projects, he has been involved in several art events or executions as a judge or technical expert in different cities. Today, with his twenty years of professional experience, he focuses on international activities. His most recent achievement is his acceptance to the Canadian Steel Symposium of 2019.
