"NICU I. CONSTANTINESCU" SECONDARY SCHOOL
Between 1885 - 1888, until the construction of the school building was finished, it functioned in private houses. In the school year 1888 - 1889, the current "Nicu Constantinescu" Secondary School of Buzău functioned as Primary School for Boys No. 4. The oldest archive of the school until 1944 included documents from 1892-1893. In 1940, on 10th November, the building was damaged by an earthquake, but it was repaired. Then, in wartime conditions, the entire archive was evacuated in 1944 to the school of Măgura, Buzău county, where the Germans set fire to the building. Then the archive of the school of Buzău burned together with the other documents. After the earthquake of March 1977, the building was severely damaged and, through special efforts, it was well consolidated and put into operation in 1980. Between 1977-1980, the school functioned in the premises of "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" National High School and "Dr. Constantin Angelescu" Agricultural High School. "Nicu Constantinescu" school, also called General School No. 8 for a while, functions today in the old premises of 109 Colonel Ion Buzoianu street, in the area of the Railway Station, in the south-eastern part of the municipality. In the school yard there are secular oaks, reminders of Codrii Vlăsiei, real monuments of nature, which are in the records of the Environmental Protection Agency.
