Mosaic at the former “Contactoare” Enterprise, Buzău

MOSAIC AT THE FORMER "CONTACTOARE" ENTERPRISE, BUZĂU The work of art was created in 1985 by the artist Vasile Celmare (born on the 10th of May 1931 in Breaza de Sus, Prahova county – died on the 1st of June, 2019, in Bucharest), one of the great innovators in Romanian plastic art of the 20th century, having an important number of national and international, group and individual exhibitions. He graduated from the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Fine Arts Institute in Bucharest, where his teachers were Rudolf Schweitzer-Cumpăna and Adina Paula Moscu, originally from Buzău. He later became a professor at the department of monumental art of the same institute, where he also held the position of vice-dean. Vasile Celmare created, in the 80s, several mosaics on the facades of modern institutions in Bucharest, Buzău, Ploieşti, Mamaia or Adamclisi. In Buzău, he created the mosaic on the building of the Contactoare company, which was installed in the winter of 1985.
