„1907” MEMORIAL The episode at Buzău bridge is one of the most significant moments of 1907 Revolt of Buzău county and, at the same time, it is representative of the peasant movements directed against the cities in general. In the confrontation at Buzău bridge between the rioting peasants and a company of the 8th Buzău Infantry Regiment, 8 peasants died and 3 others were injured. The monument was erected in 1957, on the 50th anniversary of the 1907 Revolt, at the northern entrance to Buzău, near the bridge over Buzău river, and itis the work of artist Ion Theodor Vidali of Ploiești. Later, for objective reasons, the monument was moved to either side of the road, in close proximity to the bridge.
