"YOU (SHOULD) AIM FOR INFINITY!"
The work "You (Should) Aim For Infinity!" is part of the "Let's raise the mural!" project, which is sustained by the Buzău City Hall and the Alexandru Marghiloman Cultural and Educational Center. The project aims to paint the facades of blocks, schools, kindergartens and high schools in Buzău with contemporary mural art through which to convey positive, educational, ecological messages in a high-quality artistic form, at international standards of street art. The purpose of these paintings is to beautify the overall appearance of the city through these large-scale works of art, painted on facades with increased visibility, while also inspiring passers-by towards positive thinking and creativity.
The impact of this type of street art has proven to be very beneficial all over the world, and it is starting to gain momentum in Romania as well, through street art festivals that take place in more and more cities, year after year. The effects of quality urban art are considered important and valuable for the general condition of the inhabitants, and for the education of children, for the overall appearance of a city, and for increasing tourism prospects.
The central message of the work "You (Should) aim for infinity!" is that you can become anything, as long as you strive towards infinity: follow your path to your maximum potential. The high school is named after the great mathematician Grigore C. Moisil and has as specializations: electronics, technology, mathematics and informatics, which is why a representation of some elements from the world of electronics was pursued, as well as the creation of "a mathematical formula" that would encourage any viewer to tend towards their infinite possibilities. The background is represented in a free, artistic, spontaneous way, symbolizing the same infinity of possibilities, which, in contrast to the rigidities of the electronic world, symbolizes the need for order and freedom, science and creativity. It was made by Miruna Blănaru and Bogdan Adrian Lefter.
Miruna Blănaru is an artist from Buzău, who debuted in contemporary mural art on the occasion of the "Let's raise the mural!" project, initiated by her, and who perseveres in her mission to beautify the city of Buzău through street art works of international artistic quality with positive messages.
Bogdan Adrian Lefter is an artist from Buzău of international recognition, with multiple participations in sculpture symposia all over the world, and the initiator of the BISS project - "Buzău International Sculpture Symposium", which debuted in 2022. Bogdan debuted in contemporary mural art on the occasion of the "Let's raise the mural!" project, proving his mastery in painting at the highest level.
The work was completed on the 23rd of October 2021.
