“Our Chickens – Our Treasures”

"OUR CHICKENS - OUR TREASURES" The work "Our Chickens - Our Treasures " is part of the "Let's raise the mural!" project, which is sustained by the Buzău City Hall and the Alexandru Marghiloman Cultural and Educational Center. The project aims to paint the facades of blocks, schools, kindergartens and high schools in Buzău with contemporary mural art through which to convey positive, educational, ecological messages in a high-quality artistic form, at international standards of street art. The purpose of these paintings is to beautify the overall appearance of the city through these large-scale works of art, painted on facades with increased visibility, while also inspiring passers-by towards positive thinking and creativity. The impact of this type of street art has proven to be very beneficial all over the world, and it is starting to gain momentum in Romania as well, through street art festivals that take place in more and more cities, year after year. The effects of quality urban art are considered important and valuable for the general condition of the inhabitants, and for the education of children, for the overall appearance of a city, and for increasing tourism prospects. The work "Our chickens - Our treasures" represents an illustration of the broody hen chickens from the Golden Treasure of Pietroasele, Buzău county, this being both a local and a national symbol, due to its historical importance and its inestimable value. The work proposes a metaphor of our children, who go to school for a quality education, children always representing the "treasures" of a nation. It was created by Răzvan Constantinescu and Andrei Tănase, a team of mural artists from Bucharest, specialized in graffiti art and painting on school institutions. The work was completed on the 10th of October 2021.
