THE FORMER ORTHODOX HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS (TODAY THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE COUNTY AGRICULTURAL DIRECTORATE)
Between 1927 and 1928, the Orthodox High School for girls was established within the Orthodox Society, Buzău branch. In 1928, it merged with Miss Iosefina Mihăescu's Pension, and in 1937, Miss Sultana Ionescu's Pension was added to it.
At the end of 1940, with the help of the Committee of the local branch of the Romanian Orthodox Society, the school had its own building and it was attended by 300 students, 115 of whom were living in the school’s dormitories.
The teachers were selected from the state schools, and the school was managed by Elena Becheanu, a French teacher.
