Liana Cornelia Axinte was born on 23rd July 1943 in Ploiești. Between 1962 and 1968 she attended the Institute of Fine Arts of Bucharest, at the class of Professor Ion Lucian Murnu. Initially she made masks for theatre performances („The Bacchae” by Euripides, „The Imaginary Sick Man” by Molière) and puppet shows, including those particularly noted at the Charleville-Mezières Festival in France in 1979. She took part in the 1970 („Icarus”) and 1974 („Veil”) editions of Măgura Sculpture Camp. She sculpted in wood and stone, moving from essentialised figurativism to abstract expression. She has worked on ceramic reliefs, bronze medals and illustrated poems by Rainer Maria Rilke. The work „Prince Charming of the Linden Tree” was made in 1975.
