„Heroes” Historical Outdoor Exhibition

„HEROES” HISTORICAL OUTDOOR EXHIBITION In 2018, at the celebration of the centenary of the creation of Great Romania, Buzău City Hall held a suite of cultural and educational events, which culminated in an impressive commemorative action carried out together with „Getica” 2nd Infantry Division, the large unit of Buzău garrison, dedicated to Heroes’ Day – 17th May – authentic event of national identity, raised to this rank by the enthusiasm and special effort of the organizers. As part of these events, Heroes outdoor exhibition was inaugurated, comprising 144 panels (632 linear meters) with photos printed on aluminum foil, each 3 meters long and 2.4 meters wide, with relevant images regarding the participation of the Romanian army in the creation of the modern and unitary Romanian state, from the War of Independence to the present, including the participation of Romanian troops in theaters of military operations abroad. In place of honor and well-deserved gratitude are the photos of the 29 military heroes (three of whom are from Buzău) who fell in the missions of the Romanian army in these theaters of operations. Many photos in the collection refer to the military units of Buzău garrison over time, many of them emblematic of the Romanian army. The selected photos have been reproduced with exceptional graphic quality, the explanations are in Romanian and English, and the panels are illuminated at night. The initiator was Buzău City Hall, Mayor Constantin Toma, producer Zarr Advertising Buzău, and the documentation belongs to Dr. Marius-Adrian Nicoară, associate member of the Romanian Academy of Scientists.
