„The road to eternity”

„THE ROAD TO ETERNITY” Work made within the international sculpture symposium of Buzău, „Memory of Water”, 1st edition, 1st – 31st July 2022. ValerianJikia, the author of this sculpture, explains the concept as follows: „The Road to Eternity – the name I put to my composition, which carries a philosophical charge, in which people are always striving to learn about the micro and macrocosm. One of the most difficult tasks that humanity has solved in art is abstract thinking, which sometimes seems very simple, but it is precisely this simplicity that hides symbolic thinking. My sketch is presented as the essence of material form and represents a rhythmic transition from the micro-incarnate form to the cosmic world, where the plastic form is harmoniously reproduced as a symbol of the scientific and spiritual aspiration of the human being towards the universal of knowledge.” Valerian Jikia was born on 16th June 1961 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1986 he graduated from the Academy of Arts in his hometown, and in 1990 he also completed postgraduate studies at the same academy. In 2002 he was awarded a medal by the President of Georgia. He is a sculptor and also a specialist in graphic design. He has many public works. Since 1982 he has participated in republican, union and international exhibitions and symposia. He has been honoured with several republican, union and international awards. Since 1993 he has produced numerous public works, both in Georgia and abroad.
