HOUSE OF GENERAL TEODOR SERGHIESCU (1890)
General Teodor Serghiescu (1877-1942) was the son of General Teodor M. Serghiescu, participant in the War of Independence, decorated with the “Crossing of the Danube Cross” medal.
Teodor Serghiescu attended the Military School of Artillery and Engineering, the Special School of Artillery and Engineering and the Higher War School (1909-1911). Among the many other units in which he worked as an officer were the 7th and 23rd Buzău Artillery Regiments, the 5th Division based in Buzău and the 5th Army Corps Command. He commanded the 7th Buzău Artillery Regiment (1924), the 5th Artillery Brigade (1930) and the 5th Division (1935).
He participated in the Bulgarian Campaign (1913) and the War of National Integration (1916-1919). In 1917 he was wounded. Among many other decorations, he was also awarded the "Star of Romania" and "Crown of Romania" Orders. He was an active member of the Royal Romanian Geographical Society and supported the establishment of the Heroes' Cemetery and the construction of the Heroes' Church in Buzău.
