THE GABRIEL NEGULESCU HOUSE
The houses belonged to the teacher Gabriel Negulescu, the principal of Primary School for boys no. 3 from Buzău (currently General School no. 6).
His son, Emil G. Negulescu, was born on the 27th of March 1902. He attended the "Alexandru Hâjdeu" High School in Buzău and the Polytechnic Faculty in Bucharest, Forestry section, in parallel with the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Geography in Cluj (1930).
Emil G. Negulescu had a prodigious activity as a forestry engineer and university teacher. He participated together with the famous French professor Emmanuele de Marton in research in the Apuseni Mountains. He was a university professor, teaching doctor, dean of the Institute of Forestry in Brașov. From 1966 he was a member of the National Council of Scientific Research, and from 1969, a member of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He is the author of several studies and specialized manuals, including the Forestry Treaty and the Dendrology Manual, the first of this kind in Romania.
As an amateur sculptor, he created the busts of several famous teachers, among them Teacher Nazarie ("Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" National College from Buzău) and Spiru Haret (Boys' Normal School, today "Spiru Haret" National College from Buzău).
In 1997, he was declared an Honorary Citizen of the municipality of Brașov, for his contribution in the scientific, educational and cultural fields.
