„Art Hotel” the former headquarters of the National Bank of România – Buzău Branch

„ART HOTEL” THE FORMER HEADQUARTERS OF THE NATIONAL BANK OF ROMANIA – BUZĂU BRANCH In 1893, the local Agency of the National Bank of Romania was established in Buzău, after it had been established in Bucharest in 1880. In 1895, the building located on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard, today, was bought from Alecu Garoflid, one of the city’s big owners Nicolae Bălcescu, corner with Unirii Boulevard. In this building, the County Branch of the National Bank of Romania – Buzău branch operated until 1995, when it was moved to the new building located opposite the Communal Palace. Today, the Art hotel operates here.
