CUZA VODĂ STREET ARCHITECTURAL ENSEMBLE
Declared a historical monument, Cuza Vodă Street architectural ensemble, formerly called Târglui Street (or Lipscanii Buzăului), is the main commercial street located in the historic center of Buzău. Many of the houses on this street date back to the 19th century, being built on existing foundations. There are buildings that have a ground floor and an upper floor, the merchants who owned them had their shops on the ground floor and their apartments on the upper floor. It occupies a relatively extensive perimeter, outlining the oldest core of the city. The historical center is currently not only the social and administrative heart of the city, but also one of the main poles of attraction for tourists seeking to satisfy their need for knowledge and enriching their knowledge, given the fact that it connects two points with a real tourist potential: the building of the old Bazar, with the area of the old Obor (Alexandru Marghiloman street) and the Communal Palace – an emblematic building for the municipality of Buzău. Cuza Vodă Street complex is included in the List of Historical Monuments (BZ-II-a-B-02322).
