ARCHITECT EMIL BOIANOVICI HOUSE
Emil Boianovici, (1843 – 1911), he was a public works subcontractor and chief architect of the city of Buzău, he built the city’s water supply and worked on the systematization of Crâng Park. He was born in 1843 in Budapest and completed his primary education in Paris and Ghent, Belgium. He came to Romania as an engineer, employed by the Strousberg Company, for the construction of Buzău-Mărăşeşti railway line. In 1906 he obtained Romanian citizenship. In Buzău, his name is associated with many construction achievements, including Crâng Water Castle built in 1897. His house, built at the end of the 19th century, a building with mezzanine, ground floor, first floor and raised roof with a neo-Romanian architectural appearance, is currently the headquarters of company Ţiriac Asigurări S.A.
